Early History:
Activated 1 July 1943 at Geiger Fd, Wash. Group was assembled at Rapid City,
SD. from 9 July 1943 and underwent training. Training continued at Ephrata AAB,
Wash. from the 23rd October 1943 to December 1943. Final preparation for overseas
service at Wendover Fd, Utah, 4 December 1943 to 1 January 1944.
Subsequent History:
Redeployed to the US in May 1945. The aircraft left Glatton 9-23 May. Ground
crew departed on the 21st June 1945 and sailed on Queen Elizabeth from Gourock,
24 June 1945, and arrived in New York 29 June 1945. Personnel assembled Sioux
Falls AAFd, SD. in late Jul. 45. The group was inactivated at this base on the
28th August 1945.
